Bridal Terms and Conditions


It is the responsibility of the named person on the booking form to understand, agree, and accept responsibility for all booking conditions, including all payments due by specified dates. By proceeding to pay a deposit, you accept that you are entering into a contract with Helen S Makeup and Beauty, and you agree to be bound by these conditions. Due to demand the booking minimum for Wedding Makeup parties is 3 people in peak season (March -September). If the Wedding date is out of season, but the venue is out of a15 mile radius of Helen's home in Stroud, the 3 people mininum still applies.




Travel expenses are included for the first 10 miles (there and back) from Stroud, Gloucestershire. Additional mileage will be charged at £0.45 per mile out of this radius (cost advised by HMRC). You will be expected to cover all costs for hotel accommodation where it is not practical to travel on the day of your wedding i.e. limited time available, or severe weather conditions have been forecast. Please advise that parking costs are not included in the original price and would be added to the final balance.




Immediate payment of a non-refundable, and non-transferrable, £30 deposit is required before a date will be held. Any deposit paid is deducted from the final balance and is not an upfront payment for trials. Trial costs are due at the time of the trial, or prior. Bank transfers must be made at least the day before the trial before the service can be provided, and this applies to any last minute requests on the wedding day as well. Unless Helen has seen the payment has been made, the service will not be carried out.  The remaining balance is due 1 week before the wedding day. Should no payment be received Helen have the right to cancel all services for your wedding date and all fees.



All trials are to take place at Helen's home in Stroud, and may make exceptions if necessary. Trials are mandatory for the bride and recommended for members of your bridal party if they are unsure as to what style they would like, to keep to morning time plans on the wedding day. Helen will not accept responsibility if a desired style or look does not meet expectations on the wedding day and a refund will not be offered. Prior notice must be given if you wish to cancel part of, or reschedule, an appointment. In the lightly event that Helen has turned away alternative bookings to accommodate your trial, or the duration of your trial continues after two hours, you will be charged. Further trial time can be booked at £15 per hour. Helen reserves the right to cancel a booking following a trial, without a refund of the deposit, in circumstances where there is a mismatch in styles, approach, expectations and/ or the client is uncooperative. It is advisable that you familiarise yourself with Helen's work portfolio. Helen strives to ensure that all participants are happy with the results of a trial, In the unlikely event that you, or any of your bridal party, decide after your trial that you are not satisfied, you are asked to get in contact immediately so that Helen can resolve the matter. Refunds, retrials, or cancellations without charges are solely at Helen's discretion.



All contact, whether it be general enquiries or changes to a booking, must be from the bride only. Changes to your booking by adding another person onto your original booking can only be accepted if time/resources allow on your wedding day and Helen will require prior notice and payment due at the specified time. Adding extra people on the day, without prior warning, may jeopardise the quality of Helen's work or delay the ceremony. All payments are the responsibility of the bride. Deposits are non refundable.




In the unlikely event that Helen cannot attend on the day of your wedding due to unforeseen and unfortunate events or circumstances, all payments will be immediately refunded (including deposit and trial fees). If Helen is made to feel uncomfortable in anyway, or mistreated, or if anyone becomes abusive/violent or displays any offensive behaviour, she has the right to cancel the contract without a refund. In the event of extreme weather conditions where the ‘Met office’ has issued a ‘Red’ warning, Helen reserves the right to cancel your booking. She will refund all monies as a gesture of goodwill, excluding trial costs and deposit.




If Helen experiences unforeseen delays which are out of her control refunds will not be given in the event that one or more services are forfeited as a result and no compensation will be offered if she overruns. If you are aware of factors, which could delay or hinder the journey, such as diversions, road closures, speed restrictions, match days, market days, satnav issues etc. please advise as soon as possible so Helen can factor this into her route. No refund or compensation will be offered for delays caused by other wedding vendors, guests, or members of the bridal party. A minimum of 80 minutes will be allocated for makeup application per person. If you suspect any member of your bridal party that may pose as a challenge in any way, they are encouraged to have a trial to avoid potential delays on the day.




You must ensure that the working conditions have adequate lighting, electricity points, and hand washing facilities. Please ensure every member of your party is aware of timings on the day and that they need to be, and remain, available. You are to inform Helen of any allergies or reactions prior to, or after, any makeup application. If no known allergies are stated Helen cannot be held liable for any reactions, injuries, losses, damage, costs, claims and actions that may occur to you or any other member of your party.




Helen reserves the right to use photographic or film records of any make up applications, and may use these photographs for promotional and/or commercial purposes, however this will only be with the clients’ consent. It is important that Helen continues to update her portfolio and demonstrate her work to future prospective brides. Please let Helen know if you do not wish to be photographed or if you are not happy for her to use your images for marketing purposes. Helen refrains from asking for ‘before & after’ photos but she would be very grateful for volunteers. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
